Payroll Administrator / Payroll Manager

An expanding & profitable group, based in offices in the Hook area is looking for a Payroll Administrator, Part Time (Circa 30Hrs Week – Hours flexible). £25,000 per annum

Job Description:

The Payroll Administrator role involves:

  • Sole responsibility for a monthly Payroll of approx’ 500 staff (salaried & hourly)
  • Use Sage Payroll / Sage 50
  • Applying new starters and leavers - including part month calculations
  • Ensure compliance on all Right to Work documentation
  • Accurate processing of overtime, casual hours, holidays (inc’ variable holiday pay) & commissions etc.
  • Deal with all pay enquiries and adjustments
  • Calculation of statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, SPP
  • Managing pension schemes and contributions to providers
  • Manage payroll across multiple companies / divisions within the group
  • Payment of all BACS transactions and adhoc payments on time
  • Liaise with HR, site General Managers, administrators, and department heads
  • Annual P11d and PSA reporting
  • Develop and update Payroll procedures including important processes for data
  • Maintenance of staff records and archiving, updating of tax codes etc
  • Perform system updates
  • Accurate preparation of monthly and ad hoc reports

The Successful Applicant:

The ideal candidate for the Payroll Administrator, will;

  • Work well under pressure
  • Manage work flow to ensure adherence to strict time restrictions for critical jobs
  • Be a great communicator, able to extract clear relevant information from multiple sites via phone/email
  • Must have Sage Line 50 / Sage Payroll experience
  • Have worked in a similar Payroll position previously (ideally as a Payroll Manager, or in position with sole responsibility for the Payroll)
  • Ideally live locally to Hook


Basic Salary £22-25,000
Part Time circa 25-30hours per week
