General Manager
£35K Basic £70K+ OTE

We are currently recruiting for a General Manager to run a fast paced high product value site.  This will be a hands on role, operating across multiple functions of a complex site with a strong emphasis on sales delivery & customer service.

The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced General Manager able to demonstrate extensive people management skills, with an established track record of developing and nurturing talent to create a successful & positive team able to deliver sales & service targets.  

As a General Manager responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 
  • Leading your team to deliver on KPI s and set targets 
  • Achieve and proactively drive through the team the Key Performance Indicators to agreed standards, incorporating sales growth, sales & margin targets, customer base growth, customer spend targets and customer service initiatives
  • Managing a diverse team of people to ensure success across multiple departments
  • Influencing the sales department at every level, not afraid to pick up the phone and show what good looks like
  • Liaising with head office to include stock ordering, marketing and deliveries 
  • Build close and trusted working relationships with operational colleagues to ensure excellent levels of customer service and satisfaction are delivered to customers and achieve company goals
  • Being a true brand ambassador and inspiring your team to live by the company values
  • Working autonomously, able to make commercial decisions fast without constant oversight
  • Establishing a rapport with customers and head office through trust & reliability
  • Ensuring that all our colleagues and customers work safely, by adhering to all safety policies and procedures
  • Utilising business acumen and retail knowledge to move the store forward and build a customer base 
 Ideal Candidate:
  • A background in delivering exceptional customer service standards in a sales or service driven environment
  • Will be 'numbers' driven, confident in your abilities and demonstrate the ability to influence people
  • Strong leadership skills and commercial focus
  • Understand the difference between coaching & training and able to deliver both
  • Motivated to achieve targets and goals, possess a 'can-do' attitude, and have an open-mind to learn from the experience in the business
  • Able to review & evaluate processes to offer improvements
  • A sense of humour, undented by the rigours of years of retail experience
